Jack qualified in 1962 and since then has built up his own practice in Birmingham, England. His involvement with osseointegrated implants began in the early 1970s and subsequently he has used many of the leading implant systems. He has placed and prosthetically reconstructed nearly 4,000 dental implants since 1985 using the Straumann® Dental Implant System, including over 160 full arch reconstructions, 120 of which are totally implant borne. Since 1988 he has lectured both nationally and internationally, and has run over 80 seminars and courses at basic and advanced levels. 

In March 1993 he was one of the first two British Members to be elected to the International Team for Implantology (ITI), and in 1993 became a Fellow of the ITI. He is currently involved in a prospective 5 year study of Straumann implants with Harvard University, The University of Connecticut, The University of St Antonio, Texas and Baylor University, Texas and other studies with the Institut Straumann.
