Dr Nikos Mardas qualified in Dentistry at the University of Athens, Greece in 1992 and he completed his 3 year training as a specialist in Periodontology at the Royal Dental College, University of Aarhus, Denmark in 1997. In the same year, he completed his Master of Science Degree in Periodontology. From September 1997 to August 2000, he was an academic staff member at the Royal Dental College, Department of Periodontology, University of Aarhus, Denmark. In May 2005, he received his PhD degree from the same University following an open to the public defence. From September 2000 to March 2005 he worked as a Periodontist in his own private practice limited in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry in Athens Greece while at the same time he was Consultant Periodontist in two other private practices. He is an active member of the Hellenic and British Periodontal Society, the European Federation of Periodontology, the European Association of Osseointegration, and the International Team for Implantology. He has published a significant number of scientific papers in national and international peer-reviewed journals in the field of periodontal and bone regeneration and implant dentistry. In 2005 he joined the Eastman Dental Institute (UCL) as a full-time Clinical Lecturer and he is a Consultant Periodontist in two private practices. 

Dr Mardas has expertise on non-surgical and surgical treatment of periodontal disease including conventional and regenerative periodontal surgery, periodontal plastic surgery, alveolar bone augmentation procedures and dental implants.
