Stephen Barter BDS MSurgDent RCS, graduated BDS in 1985 at Guy’s Hospital, London and received further postgraduate oral surgery and orthodontic training over a further four years. After a period in private general practice, he gradually specialised, gaining considerable skills in prosthodontics whilst maintaining regular practice of oral surgery.

Stephen completed the MSurgDent in Glasgow in 2000 and now runs a Specialist clinic in Eastbourne. He has for many years served as a Mentor for the Straumann® Dental Implant System, teaching on seminars and courses both in the UK and abroad. Stephen is a Fellow of the ITI.He is a lecturer in the Department of Periodontology at the Eastman Dental Institute, London. Stephen is also a Member of the European Association of Osseointegration and the UK Association of Dental Implantology. He lectures both nationally and internationally and his work has also been published. He serves on the Editorial Board of Implant Dentistry Today.
