Soft Tissue Management
What is it, aim
- Combination of lectures and hands-on exercises to understand the anatomy and biology of soft tissues around dental implants and the basic surgical knowledge required for appropriate periodontal soft tissue management around teeth and implants
- To develop practical surgical skills with basic mucogingival surgical approaches (free gingival graft, connective tissue grafts, repositioned flaps for recession coverage)
- Clinicians involved with the placement of dental implants
- Clinicians wanting to increase their awareness and skills in this field
- Practices wanting to expand the services they currently offer and be able to consider more patients for dental implants
What will I learn, objective
- Anatomic and surgical considerations for a functional and aesthetic mucogingival complex
- Literature on the interface between implants and peri-implant soft tissues
- Practical skills of the currently used surgical techniques for root coverage procedures
