Interactive Treatment Planning
What is it, aim
- A course covering the basic principles of treatment planning within implant dentistry
- An opportunity to bring along your own cases for planning.
- The case data should include mounted study models and radiographs. Case data will be provided for those participants who do not have their own
- Interactive group lead discussions incorporating lectures and hands-on exercises

- Clinicians who are interested in becoming involved in implant dentistry by learning about the basics of treatment planning and case selection

What will I learn, objective
- Overview of the Straumann Dental Implant System
- Emphasis will be placed on a structured approach to planning Straightforward cases
- To expand on the basic principles of treatment planning, reinforcing the ITI protocol for restoration driven implant placement and respecting proven biologic principles
- Interpretation of plain radiographs (DPT, intraoral views)
- Calculation of scaling factor on radiographic films
- Facebow recording
- Understanding of critical distance measurement
- Understanding of indications for different implant sizes
- Planning for dental implants - anatomy, age related changes, amount of bone available
- Patient Assessment I - history, medical contraindications, examination and dental contraindications
- Patient Assessment II - Prosthetic space analysis, diagnostic wax-ups, radiographic template, surgical guides
- Patient Assessment III - Conventional tomography, intraoral imaging, DPT
- Imaging introducton to CT
